Devrish Elite Forms are Jack-able?
Hey everyone, I’m here to ask you guys; because most of you here are professional mesmers at heart (you can say mezes usually say, “I’ve got more power in a pinky then the rest of you combined”). Anyways my friend relayed to me something about the Devrish Elite Form skills is basically “jack-able,” during an AB encounter with another mesmer. So as he played through it as a Devrish, when this one mesmer supposedly had taken it away from him, and then this mesmer then used that elite form spell back on him. I know this has to be impossible I thought, because mimicry spell and the 2 other stealing enchantment spells don’t (or were fixed not to). So I was wondering if this was visible information I got, because I thought it was impossible for this to happen.

You may be able to "jack" their form skill, but you will have 0 Mysticism, which means it will last about 1 second, while still costs the full amount.

How? Which spell is it? If you don't mind telling me that is.

I'm not sure as I've never tried it, but I'm guessing it's that elite Thievery skill. I don't think forms count as spells, so the non-elite thief spells won't work to my knowledge.

I'm guessing the Mesmer used Arcane Thievery or Arcane Mimicry on your friend. Arcane Thievery randomly steals a skill from the target and disables that skill for a set number of seconds. Arcane Mimicry simply steals the skill, but doesn't disable it.
Theivery is pretty usefull if you use it on a monk and steal his main healing spell, since it would disable it. However, I'd imagine the chances of stealing Rez Signet or some such would make both of these spells more of a novelty inclusion in many builds. I've not encountered or used either of them, so I can't say for sure, though.

I don't know how he got it :/
Has anyone thought of using SoI to abuse a form?
Say, have the form as your elite. Then Arcane Mimicry SoI from another mesmer with it. You could use forms that way. I don't know if they'd help, but say, +40 Armor and 33% speed from balthazar sure sounds nice o.o

Perhaps simple theivery? Both Arcane Thievery (only works on spells) and Mimicry (it was changed to not target Forms) wouldn't work in this case.
And as forms are... well, Forms, and not spells, SoI would not work with them.

So what I was thinking if it is the spell is Simple Thievery because it uses non-spell skills. Then here would be an interesting spin (but complicated at the same time). What if one D/Me brought Simple Thievery and Arcane Mimicry; Then a second D/Me brought Mez Elite Echo skill and Arcane Mimicry. Then both D/Me could take both of each others elite skills by Arcane Mimicry, then both could capture a avatar via Simple Thievery then finally using Echo to duplicate it. Of course there has to be a high Mysticism Attribute level for this to work; as well as good team work. It’s just a theory of course.

Simple Thievery, probably. Although it'd do nothing.

I've yet to find a way to copy an elite form ability.
I've tried recently and could not find a way to do it.
I'll let the dervs have them anyhoo.

1) Signet of Illusions only pumps a spell you cast.
2) Signet of Illusions is an Elite.
3) The Mesmer "jacked" the Avatar away from the current poster.
So, I don't think it's Signet of Illusion.

I've tried Simple Thievery on a hero with an Elite Form. It did not work.
I honestly don't know of any way.
Just best to let the dervs have em and hate them in secret.

Of course, it's also possible the mesmer just happened to be carrying an elite form, for no good reason. There are stranger things in AB.

I goofed because I was very tired.
I was using simple thievery on my hero.
So I'm sorry for saying it doesn't work. I havent' tried using simple thievery on an enemy yet to see if it works.
Sorry everyone.

Question...
[skill=big]Arcane Thievery[/skill]
The question is,do you have a chance to steal an elite?And if you steal it, is it worth it?
[skill=big]Arcane Mimicry[/skill]
